Compare two things with più and meno.

più … di / che means more than, meno … di means less than. One pattern covers every comparison.

• il caffè è più buono del tè

  (eel kahf-feh eh pyoo bwoh-noh dehl teh)

  = coffee is better than tea

• meno caro

  (meh-noh kah-roh)

  = less expensive

• come a Roma

  (koh-meh ah roh-mah)

  = as good as in Rome (with tanto before: tanto… come)
